Diabetes is a chronic condition which affects a patient's body's ability to use the energy found in food. The three types of diabetes that one can suffer from are Type 1 diabetes, Type 2 diabetes and Gestational diabetes. What all these types of diabetic conditions have in common is that the body cannot make insulin, is not able to use the insulin produced or both. This can turn into a serious problem as diabetes causes heart disease, nerve damage, kidney disease, stroke and blindness.

Some of the most common symptoms that are the cause of diabetes are:

1. Weight loss

Any sort of unexplained weight loss must not be ignored. If you suffer from consistent and unexpected weight loss you should consult your doctor immediately. When you reach your middle adulthood your body is expected to maintain a consistent weight over the years. This can be a cause of diabetes and hence a doctor must be consulted immediately.

2. Polyuria

It is a condition where in the body passes urine frequently. It is the frequent passage or large amount of urine on a daily basis. Polyuria is believed to be one of the main symptoms which diabetes causes. If one does not get it treated, the patient's body will suffer from serious dehydration and can also affect the functioning of the patient's kidney.

3. Blurred vision

Blurred vision is believed to be one of the top indicators that one is suffering from diabetes mellitus. It simply refers to the loss of sharpness of one's vision and the ability to see details clearly. If you experience blurry vision for a period of time you must visit a doctor immediately.

4. Polydipsia

Excessive thirst followed by a prolonged dryness in the mouth is another indicator that a person may be suffering from diabetes. Polydipsia is an indicator in which a person feels extremely thirsty even after drinking water.

5. Slow healing

Wounds that take more than a week to heal properly may be a sign that the person is suffering from a serious disease. Usually it is believed that a person who suffers from diabetes may have slow healing wounds.

6. Fatigue

Low blood glucose levels tend you make your body feel tired even when you have not undergone any serious work out. Difficulties in being able to carry out simple tasks and bouts of depression are believed to be one of the many diabetes causes.
